About Tailor My PC

The tagline for the site is “Your Technology News Lounge” instead of some formal title such as “The Technology News Source”, because I am simply offering up the news items I find the most interesting for the day.  The goal is to start a conversation, and the best way to do so is to find something interesting for my readers and then allow them to control the conversation themselves.  Tailor My PC gives you a place to share your knowledge and opinions about the news of the day whether this be through commenting (I love comments), email, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, etc.

“Either write something worth reading about or do something worth writing about.”  – Ben Franklin

Tailor My PC started on the basis of custom configuring computers for people for free.  I would go to an OEM such as HP or Toshiba and people would tell me what they want their computer to do and how much they want to spend and I would select the right hardware options to fit their needs.  I started it due to a high demand from family, friends, etc. and I decided to extend it to everyone on the web by creating this website.  I am still doing it for free, so if you or somebody you know is interested in purchasing a computer check it out at Custom Configured Computers.

Why write this blog?

I have always been intrigued by technology; I remember going to the Gateway store in the mall back in 1995 with my parents to pick out our first personal computer.  My interest in how computers operate began soon after when I saw my mom unscrew the side panel of it to add more RAM to it.  Watching that panel come off had the same effect on me that a peek under the hood of the family car had on your favorite local car mechanic.

I feel that I offer a different voice from most of the technology bloggers that are already out there, if I was satisfied with a news source or blog I would just read that instead of publishing my own.  By writing this blog it allows me to keep in touch with the technology related news stories of the day while giving me the chance to see how others feel about a given story.

About the Author

My name is James Spinosa and I am currently a computer science major in my senior year at Binghamton University in upstate New York.  In my spare time I can usually be found working on my marketing business that I started in my freshman dorm, writing on this blog, playing video games, reading books, or throwing some ridiculous party in downtown Binghamton with my fraternity Tau Alpha Upsilon.

At the age of 15 I started working for Bethlehem Central School District as a technology department intern.  I worked my way up to the point where I was giving advice on 6-figure+ contracts and by the time I entered college I was managing the internship program that I had originally joined.  Eventually I became a Technology Specialist for the district with a wide variety of technology related tasks.  I left in 2010 to devote more effort to my marketing business as well as other endeavors such as this blog.

I am not quite sure what I will do after I graduate this year, it depends on what job offers I get and how much I am making off my business; as it all starts to get sorted out you’ll hear more about my future plans.
